Master Herbalism

Master Herbalism is based on treatments which take into account the whole person. Our formulae are individually designed and work towards cleansing and nourishing all of the body’s systems. Herbs give the body key ingredients to make healthy new cells and contain precursors for producing hormones. In Master Herbalism there is also a very strong emphasis on lifestyle, diet and natural healing techniques. You will never be advised to go on any kind of extreme or fad diet.  A moderate and balanced approach is best.

Patients can be treated whilst on prescribed drugs as long as they are closely monitored and inform their doctor of what they are taking. You will not be given herbs that are contraindicated or have an additive effect to your medication. The decision to come off medication is always left up to the patient and their doctor. Herbal medicines can work well alongside conventional treatments. This process ,where possible, can be assisted by the herbalist in liaison with other healthcare professionals involved.

If the public is to receive the best treatment, it needs the best of both worlds, length and quality of life are better helped by a multi-disciplinary team, including the herbalist. Herbalists do not claim to have ‘the cure’ for particular diseases, herbs are used to assist the body in returning to its normal healthy state, where possible. They can also be used as tonics or preventative medicines and to maintain optimum performance.

Consultations

Anyone can visit The Herbal Clinic, ranging from those suffering from serious illness to those who are simply looking for healthy living advice tailored to suit their particular constitution and situation. A full inventory of each patient’s medical history, current symptoms, diet and lifestyle is recorded and detailed advice will be given on nutrition and natural healing methods. After an initial Iridology consultation Herbal remedies are prepared at the clinic and dispensed to the patient. These remedies range from organic tinctures to powders to herbal infusions and various topical ointments or oils if needed. All herbal supplies at the clinic come from Rutland Biodynamics and are of the highest quality. Rutland currently uses very high grade (pharmaceutical quality) ethanol distilled from French sugar beet, without any risk of gluten in the distillation product and which is guaranteed to comply in every case with the full requirements of the British and European Pharmacopoeia for residue levels.

Everything is prepared from the raw materials and no pre-made formulae are dispensed. Each formula is tailored for the particular person drawn from over two decades of knowledge and experience in working with herbal medicine. Your particular combination suits you alone. Consultations take 45 mins to 1 hour and are by appointment only.

Appointments

All consultations (40 to 60 mins)  include a 3-4 week herbal formula and the total cost is €80.  At the end of this period a follow up appointment is advised and treatments will be altered according to how each person responds to the herbs. Herbs work well when taken over a 3-6 month period for chronic, long-term conditions but for acute illnesses it may only take 1-2 weeks of treatment to see an improvement. This is not a shop and we do not sell ‘over the counter’ herbs. Skype/online appointments can also be booked if you cannot make it to the clinic in person.

Due to a high level of cancellations I am now charging a €20 booking deposit for in person appointments. This can only be refunded if notice is given 48 hours before your appointment. This is to cover room rental.
